Mickey Mouse is doing a slow clap in celebration that Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato have made amends.

On Thursday, Lovato posted a super-cute, yet super-silly, photo with her fellow Disney Channel alum Gomez. “Look at how #coolforthesummer we are,” she captioned the photo, hashtagging the title of her popular song. “Friends for years, #sameoldlove,” she added, this time referencing Selena’s new track released Wednesday.

The post included a heart emoji, making it clear that there is once again love between the pair, whose friendship — which began when they co-starred on Barney and Friends as tiny tots — stalled out last year after a spat neither have divulged details about.

The first hint of Delena 2.0 came in mid-August when Lovato started following Gomez on Instagram again. Their legions of fans rejoiced — and probably celebrated by watching old LoGo videos online. (For the record, Gomez isn’t yet following Lovato Instagram. What does it meannnnn?)

When Lovato celebrated her 23rd birthday on Aug. 20, Gomez, also 23, posted a message to her on Twitter, gushing that she was glad Wilmer Valderrama’s lady love was born.

What we do know is that the bust up between the women wasn’t pretty. But Lovato was going through stuff (her sobriety saga) and Gomez was going through stuff (her Bieber saga) and it took its toll.

Last August, after Lovato unfollowed Gomez on the photo sharing site, Andy Cohen asked her about it during a game of Plead the Fifth on Watch What Happens Live. “I think it’s just one of those things where people changed and people grow apart,” she replied.

Earlier in the year, Gomez admitted that she and her pal grew apart when Lovato was in rehab in 2010. “I’ve known her since we were 7, and we did fall apart for a while,” she told Seventeen magazine. “She was going through things and I was so young and it was confusing. I processed it saying, ‘OK, I don’t understand what she’s going through, so I’m just going to do this.’”

No matter what exactly pulled them apart, it’s nice to see them growing back together, even if they’re taking baby steps. We hope to see much more of them— and their silly faces — in the future.
